Neither the concepts nor the policies of the Nazi central publishing company which issues “The Protocols of the Elders of Zion” will be affected by the outcome of the Berne, Switzerland, “Protocols” trial, Dr. Alfred Rosenberg, Nazi anti-Semitic theoritician, announced today in a sensational front-page editorial in the Voelkischer Beobachter.
Apparently conceding in advance that the Berne trial will end in a defeat for the Swiss Nazis, Dr. Rosenberg, himself the author of a German version of the “Protocols,” derided the trial and denied that the verdict would be binding.
“Only the ‘supreme Jewish government of Jewish politics,’ but not the Berne Jewish community is entitled to take action for Jewry,” Dr. Rosenberg said.
He also attacked Dr. Chaim Weizmann for having allegedly said in 1920, in Jerusalem, that the constructive forces of Jewry might become destructive if work in Palestine was not accelerated.
The Voelkischer Beobachter announced that it would publish a series of articles on the Berne trial.
The president of the Swiss Zionist group and the head of the BasleJewish community are the complainants against the Swiss Nazis who published the “Protocols.”
