The Nazis intend to incorporate the Jewish-populated Bialystok, Grodno and Lomzhs districts into the Reich, it was reported here today. These districts, which are now neither a part of the Government General nor of the Ostland, will become a part of East Prussia.
At the same time it was also reported that Anglo-Soviet negotiations on the composition of post-war Europe provide that the Baltic countries and the provinces of Besserabia and Bukovina, territories with about 700,000 Jews, will become a part of the Soviet Union, while Poland will be restored as an independent democratic country.
The report says that the negotiations to this effect, started by Foreign Minister Eden during his visit to Moscow in December, are now being continued in London. The negotiations also provide that Britain is to remain in her dominant position in the Mediterranean, but will respect Soviet shipping there.
