The newly formed political committee of the German-American Conference will swing into action tonight to choose from among candidates for municipal, state and federal offices those whom it will recommend to its 200,000 members, Dr. Louis A. Ewald, committee chairman, informed the Jewish Daily Bulletin yesterday.
Late yesterday the group was still undecided as to where the closed session would be held. Dr. Ewald declared, however, that he would willingly disclose the names of those aspirants who had received the committee’s endorsement, after the session was over.
“Is it likely that you’ll approve any Jewish candidates?” he was asked.
