Negotiations are in progress for an international solution of the German Jewish refugee question and it is hoped that “the terrible nightmare will be ended,” Minister of Justice Joseph Phollien told the Chamber of Deputies today after hearing representatives of several parties denounce the persecution of Jews. A resolution urging the Government to participate in an international settlement of the refugee problem was moved by the leaders of the three most important Parliamentary parties — the Catholic Count Carton de Wiart, the Liberal Mayor Adolphe Max of Brussels and the Socialist Emil Vandervelde.
