A new road between Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, which runs through Latrun and territory held by Jordan before the June war, was officially dedicated today. The area had been barred to Israel use since the 1948 war of independence. The ban was in violation of the armistice agreement.

Among those attending the dedication were Labor Minister Yigal Allon, Minister Menahem Beigin, members of Parliament and residents of settlements in the area. The new road shortens the distance between the two cities by six miles.
