New Rochelle Women Active in Braille Work Elect New Officers

The Sisterhood of Temple Israel here is leading hundreds of groups in the State in transcription of Braille work for the benefit of blind.

Mrs. Sylvester Mayers, national vice-chairman of the Sisterhood Braille work, announced that the New Rochelle unit has transcribed sixty-eight volumes comprising 7,400 pages thus far this year.

Mrs. Mayers’ report was made to Mrs. Eugene L. Bondy, new president of the Sisterhood, who was elected at a luncheon several days ago. Other new officers are Mrs. Samuel Blumberg, Mrs. Joseph Engel, Mrs. Leo Herz, Mrs. Jack Sternglanz, Mrs. Edgar J. Kates, Mrs. Samuel Potter, Mrs. Henry Bronner, Mrs. Neyer Hofstadter, Mrs. Edward Hyans, Mrs. Jacques Kreisler and Mrs. Morris Poley.
