The new Roumanian law concerning religious communities is greatly hampering the social welfare work of the Kehillahs throughout Roumania, it was brought out at a meeting of Jewish members of the Roumanian parliament held here Friday.
The meeting, which was participated in by Deputies Filderman and Bercovici and Senators Horiah Carp, Rabbi Niemerower, Straucher and Weisenberger, was of an executive nature and was called to consider the grievances of the Jewish population against the government. The parliamentary representatives decided to inaugurate an energetic campaign with a view to modifying the measure.
