A plan to enlarge and modernize the Hebrew Institute, adjoining Agudas Achim Synagogue, was launched here with the opening of a drive to raise $30,000. Increased community activities was given as the reason for the construction program, by Rabbi David Tamarkin and I. Silber, chairman of the building committee.
