No official negotiations for a trade or financial agreement between Israel and France have yet begun, a French Foreign Office spokesman today told the Jewish Telegraphic Agency.

He added that there has been some contact between French officials and the Israel commercial attache here. In well-informed circles it was reported that some difficulty had arisen in relation to a trade pact because of the limited variety of goods which Israel has to offer.
