A number of persons have been arrested in the Polish town of Drzerdzoniw for voicing anti-Semitic remarks in a local restaurant, it was reported here today.
The incident occurred at the most popular cafe in the town, Mocca, when a group of Poles began making offensive remarks about Jews generally and against a number of Jews seated at an adjoining table. Among the Jews at the next table was a Mr. Turbiner, the manager of the local Jewish cooperative, and a Mr. Goldberg, a member of the management committee of the cooperative.
The Poles were arrested by the Polish Peoples Militia. The Public Prosecutor began an investigation of the incident which made a painful impression on the Polish Jews, especially since it came after a lull in anti Semitic incidents.
