See Original Daily Bulletin From This Date

Aaron Weller, an octagenarian, committed suicide by gutting his throat at the Fieldgate Street Synagogue, Whitechapel. A worshipper entering the synagogue discovered Weller near the “Ark” in the act of cutting his throat. Still conscious, Weller said he was tired of life, having nowhere to go. He was overhead mumbling the benediction recited during slaughter of animals.

Weller is lying in a critical condition in a London hospital. It is understood that the old man was friendless and that he tried to make alliving by selling books from a barrel but did not earn enough to provide himself with food or shelter.
