The “Yiddishe Presse,” Brazil’s oldest Jewish newspaper, published a special edition marking its 30th anniversary. David Markus has been editor of the paper for the past 10 years. The publishers include Dr. S. Malamud and Israel Sobel, prominent communal leaders.
The Brazilian Literary Academy today awarded its annual prize for the best travel book to Professor Dante Costa for his work “Israel: A Country Full of Life.” Professor Costa wrote the book after a visit to Israel last year.
