A religious controversy within the Anglo-Jewish community was in sight following the meeting of the executive committee of the Agudath Israel, the Orthodox Jewish organization, held last night. The meeting condemned the Liberal movement “as undermining the foundations of Judaism.”
The attack was directed particularly against the Liberal Synagogue of London which recently introduced Jewish religious services on Sunday into England for the first time. A special committee was formed to counteract the influence of the Liberals.
