High Commissioner Sir Harold A. MacMichael announced in a radio broadcast last night that the Government has approved loans to citrus growers for the 1940-41 season. The loans will be granted by local banks on the Palestine Government’s guarantee from the Treasury surplus.

The High Commissioner emphasized that the united appearance of Arab and Jewish growers made it easier for him to make representations to the Government in London. He said a citrus control board would be established at the end of May.
