Palestine Feels Effect of U.S. Neutrality Law

Jewish newspapers today hailed the new neutrality legislation of the United States, although pointing out regretfully that it could be expected to bar American ships from sailing for Palestine.

Trade relations between Palestine and Turkey were discussed by Turkish Consul-General Karaspan, who told the Hebrew daily Haboker that Ankara was eager to develop trade relations with Palestine and outlined the possibility of £1,000,000 shipments annually each way.

The £2,000,000 refinery at Haifa Bay for petroleum from Iraq is half completed and is scheduled to commence production at the end of November.
