‘palestine Liberation Organization’ Established by Arab Refugees

The establishment of a “Palestine Liberation Organization” was announced at the opening session of the first Palestine National Congress held in Jordan-held Jerusalem, it was reported here from the Jordan section.

Ahmed Shukairy said that the new organization would act to “mobilize the Palestinian people to recover their usurped homeland.” Shukairy is the Palestine representative in the Arab League. He read the text of a telegram which he said had been sent to United Nations Secretary General U Thant on formation of the new group.
