The six-member working group of the Trusteeship Council today heard testimony from B.C. McGillveray, British expert on municipal affairs in Palestine. The British official said that economically Jerusalem was not self-supporting, but could cover its deficit from the percentage of surplus customs revenue alloted to it under the economic union. He was optimistic on the prospects of employment for new immigrants in Jerusalem, providing sufficient capital were diverted to new industry.
