Palestinian Authority police arrested seven Israelis who slipped into a West Bank city. The Israelis, described as fervently Orthodox pilgrims, entered Jericho on Thursday to hold prayers at its ancient Shalom Al-Yisrael Synagogue. They were arrested and handed over to Israeli authorities. A police source said the group could be charged with violating a ban on Israeli entry into Palestinian-ruled areas of the West Bank.
