Peruvian author Mario Vargas Llosa called Israel’s military actions in the Gaza Strip “excessively severe.” Vargas Llosa, a former presidential candidate in Peru, said over the weekend that Israel has “become a powerful and arrogant country, and it is the role of its friends to be highly critical of its policies,” Ha’aretz reported.
