Gen. Augosto Pinochet, President of Chile, and other members of the government Junta, Admiral Jose Toribio and Gens. Cesar Mendoza and Fernando Mathei attended Yom Kippur services at the Circulo Israelita Temple.
They were escorted into the temple by Gil Sinay, president of the Representative Committee of the Jewish Community; Hernan Fischman, president of the Zionist Federation, and Samuel Wurgaft, vice-president of the Circulo Israelita. The service, which was conducted by Rabbi Angel Kreiman, was followed closely by the Junta members and the wives of Pinochet and Mendoza.
