At a ceremony attended by several thousand persons of all faiths, a tablet to the memory of the late J. M. Gusky, noted Jewish philanthropist and founder of Pittsburgh’s first department store, was unveiled in the Court House Building here.

For the first time in the history of the University of Pittsburgh a Jew, Harold Obernauer, was elected president of the Alumni Association at the annual meeting.
