Poalei Zion Convention Hears Report of Activities

Over seventy delegates from various parts of the United States and Canada were present at the fifteenth convention of the Poalei Zion Party in America, which opened last Saturday night at Town Hall.

$110,000 was transmitted to Palestine, to the Palestine Labor Bank and the Palestine Labor Fund in the last two years through the Poalei Zion, according to a report read before the convention by the Secretary, Mr. Hemlin. Eighteen thousand shares, amounting to $50,000 for the Workers Bank were sold by the Paolei Zion in America. Seventy-one branches of the party are active in social and cultural activities. A Poalei Zion junior movement was organized with a membership of over a thousand.

Mr. B. Locker, Executive Secretary of the World Federation of Poalei Zion addressed the delegates.

The convention will last until December 31. Plans to interest Jewish labor in America in Palestine reconstruction work will be discussed.
