Elimination of Jews from another aspect of Polish economic life became a reality yesterday as a result of a government order insisting on the mechanization of bakeries throughout the country. The order has forced most Jewish bakeries to close their doors since mechanization is a financial impossibility for the small enterprises.
Dozens of Jewish bakeries are being shut down by the authorities daily. In Lodz, alone, ten small bakeshops were closed, nine of them Jewish.
