The Polish Ministry of the Interior yesterday prohibited distribution in Poland of the Stern, Yiddish daily newspaper published in Biro-Bidjan, the autonomous Jewish region established by the Soviet in the Far East.
Because of the widespread interest among Polish Jews in Biro-Bidjan as a possible object of emigration, the paper has been closely followed here for news of the region.
The Ministry also forbade distribution in Poland of five anti-Nazi publications issued in Paris, Basle and Praha.
