President Bush named two Jews to his Committee on the Arts and the Humanities. The White House announcement Tuesday named Marc Stern, a major fund-raiser for Bush’s re-election campaign who also is director of the Los Angeles Opera; and Barbara Jacobs Mitnick, a New Jersey historian and preservationist whose son is employed by Bush as a White House counsel.
