Prince Bernhard was the chief speaker at the tenth memorial convention for victims of the Nazis held here last night. Speaking at the famous medieval Knights Hall, Prince Bernhard declared: “My thoughts go out ### very many of our Jewish compatriots who were treated like pariahs during the German occultation of Holland and who met, mostly far from their homes, a terrible death.”
Similar commemorative meetings were held in churches and synagogues in this and other major Dutch cities last night, on the eve of the national celebration of Liberation Day. Israel Minister Ezra Yoran was among the diplomats present at the meeting in Knights Hall.
