Prof. Askenasi Appointed Poland’s Representative to Diplomatic Academy

Professor Simon Askenasi. former representative of the Polish Republic at the League of Nations has. according to a report circulated by the Polish Telegraphic Agency, been appointed by the Presidium of the International Diplomatic Academy in Paris as the Polish Representative in the Academy. After consultation with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Professor Askenasi has declared his acceptance of the honor.

Professor Askenasi. the leader of the Jewish Assimilationist Movement in Poland, has rendered great services to the Polish State. He is Poland’s greatest historian. Nevertheless, he has been subjected to fierce attacks by the anti-Semitic parties and in consequence decided to resign his position as Polish Representative at the League of Nations. Since then he has taken no part in political affairs.
