Prof. Jan Baudoin de Courtenay, famous linguist and protagonist of the rights of minorities, died here today at the age of 84. Prof. de Courtenay was deeply interested in Jewish cultural movements and sponsored the advancement of the Yiddish language. In 1922 he was candidate for election as Polish president. He had the support of a large part of the Jewish population.
