The death of Leo S. Olschki, internationally-known Jewish publisher and palynologist, at Geneva after a brief illness was reported today. He was 80.
The Jewish scholar, one of the world’s leading collectors of ancient manuscripts, first editions and rare editions, had been in voluntary exile from Italy after his Italian citizenship had been revoked by Premier Mussolint’s anti-Semitic laws of Sept. 1938. King Victor Emmanuel by special decree had personally granted him Italian citizenship several years ago in recognition of his many important contributions to Italian literature.
