The name of Professor Hermann Jacobsohn is added to the growing list of martyrs to Nazi anti-Semitism. Prof. Jacobsohn, who held the chair of Indo-Germanic Philology at the University of Marburg, was forced to resign because he was a Jew. As a result, he has become another of the “suicides through force of circumstance” that are growing so frequent among German Jews. He threw himself under a train yesterday. Prof. Jacobsohn was 53 years old.
