A public trial of the neighbors of a Jewish working girl, on the charge of anti-Semitic persecution, will be staged in Leningrad shortly.
The charge is that Sonia Chayevskaya lost her mind because of the persecutions she was subjected to by her neighbors. An investigation established the fact that her non-Jewish neighbors were in the habit of standing in her door at five o’clock in the morning, hurling at her the insulting term Zhidovskaya Morda,” and shouting, “Get out.” They did not permit her to use the water in the washroom in the apartment which they shared with her under the Soviet arrangements.
