Rabbi Abraham Burstein, Chaplain, Author, Poet, Dies at Age of 72

Funeral services were held here today for Rabbi Abraham Burstein, author and poet, who died here yesterday at the age of 72. He was chaplain of the Jewish Theatrical Guild, and senior Jewish chaplain of the New York City Board of Correction.

Born in Cleveland, Rabbi Burstein had served as secretary of the Rabbinical Assembly of America and of the Synagogue Council of America. He was the author of many works of poetry and prose, and served as editor of the Jewish Outlook. He also served as executive secretary of the Jewish Academy of Arts and Sciences.
