Rabbi Philip R. Alstat, formerly spiritual leader of Temple Beth Elohim and Temple Adath Israel, both in the Bronx, has accepted a call to Temple Israel of Washington Heights. He will assume his new duties with the Friday evening services. In honor of his installation as the new leader of Temple Adath Israel in the Bronx, 250 members of the congregation attended a dinner Sunday night to pay their respects to Rabbi Henry A. Schorr. He was formally installed at services on Friday evening. Speakers at the dinner included Rabbi Stephen S. Wise, commissioner of plants and structures Albert Goldman and Rabbi Schorr.
