Funeral services were held here today for Rabbi Hirsch Ferber, rabbi of the West End Synagogue from 1913 to 1959, considered one of the world’s leaders in Orthodox Jewry, an author and a leader of Agudath Israel World Organization. He was 84. For 10 years, he was chairman of the Association of London Rabbis. He was also a member of the Rabbinical Council. He had written widely on Jewish law and tradition. Among his survivors is a son, Rabbi Jacob Ferber, who has held, among other posts, that of officiating chaplain of the Royal Air Force.
