Rabbi Isaac Rubinstein, Former Member of Polish Senate, Dies in New York

Funeral services were held here today at the Yeshiva College for Rabbi Isaac Rubinstein, former Chief Rabbi of Vilna and a member of the Polish Senate, who died on Wednesday at the age of 65.

Rabbi Rubinstein was president of the Mizrachi Organization of Poland, a member of the administrative committee of the Jewish Agency, and a member of the executive committee of the World Jewish Congress. He came to the United States in 1941.

Rabbi Rubinstein was a member of the International Conference for Peace through Religion from 1929 through 1933 and of the Advisory Council on Refugee Affairs of the League of Nations. Both as a Senator and international statesman, he foutht for the defense of Jewish rights and international justice for minorities.
