Rabbi Mendel Landauer, a Chassidic rebbe, who returned to Poland from the United States last year, after holding a rabbinate in Detroit, died today at the age of 73.
Rabbi Landauer was known as the “Zawiercier rebbe.” He was the first Chassidic rabbi to support the Zionist movement.
