Attorney General Francis Biddle has directed a re-trial of the case against the alleged seditionists, eliminating some of the defendants and shortening the trial time, the Justice Department announced today. The District of Columbia court is expected to set a date for the trial.
The first trial opened April 17, 1944 and was suspended November 30 with the death of presiding Judge Edward Eicher.
