Reich May Make Token Payment

Germany will not be able to pay in full her $51,000,000 obligation to the United States which becomes due on Saturday. but may make a token payment so as not to be classed a defaulter. it was learned today.

A meeting to consider how to handle Germany’s obligation was held at the State Department on Wednesday. Among those present at the conference was William E. Dodd. American Ambassador to Germany.
