The Austrian League for Human Rights has appealed to Pope Pius and to Catholic officials here to remove from Tyrolean churches tablets and paintings depicting alleged Jewish ritual murders of the fifteenth century.
Although the Pope has not yet replied to the request, Bishop Rusch of Innsbruck has turned down the appeal in a letter in which he said that the “Jews have not yet proved that they never did such things.”
