Rene Cassin Elected to Court of Human Rights by Council of Europe

Rene Cassin, French statesman and president of the Alliance Israelite Universelle, has been elected to the Court of Human Rights, an international court in which any individual has the right to take legal action against a state. Prof. Cassin, who is head of France’s highest administrative court, the Council of State, was one of 15 leading European judges named at a meeting of the Council of Europe in Strasbourg, France.
