Richardson Dead; African Exporter

–Sir Lewis Richardson, one of the world’s most important ostrich feather exporters, died here today.

Sir Lewis was 61. He was born in Birmingham, England, where he was educated. In 1881 he came to South Africa and entered the ostrich feather exporting business. His firm, L. Richardson and Co., has branches in Port Elizabeth, London. Bradford, New York, Boston and this city.

Sir Lewis was First Baronet, Knight and C. B. E. He was prominent as a communal worker among the Jews of England and Africa.
