George Lincoln Rockwell, self-styled fuehrer of the “American Nazi Party,” said today that he will bring his “stormtroopers” to New York City by motor convoy for a mass anti-Jewish rally on July 4. The meeting will probably be held in Union Square.
While there has been boasting of a “motor convoy” to transport adherents to New York, Rockwell’s organized followers are estimated to total not more than a score.
Rockwell is known to have been in contact with would-be supporters in the New York and New Jersey area. He is said to be seeking participation of former Nazi Bundists and other anti-Semites in an attempt to unite various anti-Semitic elements under his banner at the July 4 rally.
