A group of newspapermen and women, led by Mrs. Tulli Zevi, Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent, walked out of a press conference called by Italian monarchist leader Mario Covelli in protest against his anti-Semitic remarks.

The monarchist had criticized the leadership of various liberal and democratic parties as full of "Jewish venom." The correspondents denounced Covelli’s "undemocratic attitude" before walking out of the press conference.
