Sir Herbert Samuel, first High Commissioner of Palestine, was elected today as chairman of the Palestine Electric Corporation to succeed the late Lord Reading. Sir Herbert is leaving for New York tomorrow as one of the three members of a delegation of British Jewish leaders who will consult with leading Jews in the United States on alleviation of the situation of German Jews.
