Samuel Untermyer Urges B’nai B’rith Join Boycott

crisis, even though I disagree with certain features of their program as being not only timid, dilatory and ineffective, but perilous to the cause of World Jewry.

Discussing Nazi propaganda efforts, Mr. Untermyer vigorously denounced publication in this country of the Hitler autobiography, “Mein Kampf,” and assailed the American publishers who are soon to bring the book out.

“These people were warned, and they knew, that the publication of that book, which is being promoted by the Nazi propagandists in this country, was intended to arouse anti-Semitism in this country,” he asserted, “but the prospective profit was apparently too great a temptation to overcome. Anyone, Jew or non-Jew, who hereafter buys a book or other publication of that company, is thereby contributing to the prosperity of a business that is dedicated to the spread of hatred, bigotry, anti-Semitism and falsehood.”
