A volunteer corps of street cleaners and garbage collectors was quickly organized here today in the wake of a wildest strike of sanitation men that was immediately denounced by the Tel Aviv Labor Council.
Many of the city’s housewives today began emptying their own garbage cans into trucks supplied by individual owners in the special clean-up effort. The Labor Council threatened today to bring the leaders of the strike before a Histadrut tribunal in an effort to expel them unless they call off the strike.
