Highlights of United Nations history, from the establishment of the organization in 1945 to the present crisis in the Congo, have been written and produced in a phonograph-record album by Saul Carson. Jewish Telegraphic Agency correspondent at the United Nations, it was announced today at the UN headquarters here.
The album, which will be distributed commercially in the United States and abroad by Decca Records, is narrated by Ralph Bellamy, noted star of the stage and films. It is dedicated to Secretary General Dag Hammarskjold. The purpose of the album is educational in regard to the aims, policies and achievements of the United Nations.
Among the heads of government whose voicer are included in the recording are those of Presidents Truman and Eisenhower of the United State; the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of the USSR, Nikita S. Khrushchev; Queen Elizabeth H; King Saud of Saudi Arabia; Prime Minister David Ben-Gurion of Israel; Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru of India; and President Kwame Nkrumah of Ghana, Secretariat members included are Mr. Hammarskjold; Andrew W. Cordier, executive assistant to the Secretary General; and Under Secretary Ralph J. Bunche.
The Archive of the Jewish Telegraphic Agency includes articles published from 1923 to 2008. Archive stories reflect the journalistic standards and practices of the time they were published.
