An expedition of doctors and scientists will be sent to Biro-Bidjan by the All-Ukrainian Institute for Experimental Medicine, most important institution of its kind in the Ukraine, to study medical and hygiene problems of the Jewish autonomous territory.
The expedition will investigate Biro-Bidjan’s mineral springs, its climate, its effect on inhabitants, diseases peculiar to the region and similar problems. It will work according to a plan proposed by Professor Lifschitz, director of the All-Ukrainian institute. A practical medical aid plan, to be administered by the institute, also has been prepared by Professor Lifschitz and is now under consideration.
