Scarlet Fever and Typhus Epidemic in Polish Towns

A scarlet fever epidemic is raging in this city. Hundreds of persons are taken ill daily. The hospitals are overcrowded. The city government has called a special meeting to consider ways and means of combatting the epidemic.

The Society for the Protection of the Health of the Jewish Population here has received alarming reports from the district of Lublin concerning a typhus and scarlet fever epidemic. Twenty children died there during the last two weeks.

The society has despatched a medical staff to cope with the situation.
