NEGOTIATING WITH SYNDICATE
Nazi officials have opened negotiations in New York with an Anglo-American syndicate for the extension of credits to Germany, according to the London Sunday Chronicle.
Chancellor of the Exchequer Neville Chamberlain would never permit the granting of such loans to Germany, the Chronicle declared, pointing out, however, that nothing was known here concerning the attitude of Americans toward a loan for the Nazi regime.
TIMES BLAMES REICH
The anti-Jewish policies of Chancellor Hitler are to be blamed for Germany’s bankruptcy today, the Sunday Times said editorially in commenting on Dr. Schacht’s demand for a moratorium on Germany’s debts.
Nazi Germany will not be granted such a moratorium or credits by the nations of the world without producing valid proofs that she deserves it, the paper asserted, adding that the “world anti-German boycott was largely provoked by the German government’s own furious anti-Semitic policy.”
